Got a push fit leaking under a sink – tried reseating it, but it’s still dripping. Anyone got tips on how to get a better seal, or is it just better to replace the fitting altogether?

Ah mate, them push-fit fittings can be a right pain sometimes. If it’s still drippin’ after reseatin’ it, you might wanna check if there’s any debris or damage on the pipe or the fittin’ itself. Sometimes the O-ring inside gets worn or twisted. You could try givin’ it a clean and a bit of silicone grease to help the seal. But honestly, if it’s still leakin’ after that, might be best to just swap it out for a new one. They ain’t too pricey, and it’ll save you the ’eadache in the long run.

If it’s still leaking after reseating, check the pipe ends – they need to be clean, straight, and smooth. Also, clean the fitting and inspect the O-ring for damage; a bit of silicone grease can help. Make sure the pipe’s fully pushed in. If all else fails, replace the fitting with a better quality one – some just don’t hold up.

Thanks for all the advice, everyone – turns out the fitting itself was the issue. I swapped it out for a new one, made sure everything was clean and pushed in properly, and it’s sorted now. No more leaks! Cheers for pointing me in the right direction.
