I’m redoing the floors in my living room and looking for some good but cheap laminate flooring options. I don’t want anything that looks too fake or wears out quickly, but I’m also on a budget.

Does anyone have recommendations for brands or places to buy laminate flooring that’s affordable but still decent quality? Also, any tips for making it look more expensive once it’s installed would be a bonus. Thanks!

I recently did my living room with some affordable laminate flooring, and I’d definitely recommend checking out the GoodHome range from B&Q. I used the https://buildiro.com/product/3663602536932/GoodHome+Newlyn+Grey+Oak+effect+Laminate+Flooring%2C+1.68m%C2%B2+Pack+of+5 , which is around £20 per sqm. They also have the https://buildiro.com/product/3663602537724/GoodHome+Strood+Grey+Oak+effect+Laminate+Flooring%2C+1.3m%C2%B2+Pack+of+6 if you want something slightly different.

Both look way more expensive than they are and hold up well, especially for the price. Plus, if you’re on a budget, you can often find discount codes online for B&Q (just Google them), and it can bring the cost down even further.

If you’re a tradesperson or know someone who is, you can get about 10% off at TradePoint, which is part of B&Q.

I recently did my living room and got my laminate flooring from <a href=" removed link " target="_blank" rel="noopener"> removed link . They’ve got some great options that are affordable but still really good quality. I went with one of their oak-effect laminates, and it looks far more expensive than it actually was. The durability has been spot on too – no scratches or wear so far.

For making it look more high-end, I’d recommend using a good underlay to give it a solid feel underfoot and going for matching beading or skirting boards to finish it off nicely. Also, laying it in a diagonal or herringbone pattern can really elevate the look if you’ve got the time to do it. Definitely worth checking them out!
